country cucina

via {Elle Decor}
This fantastic farmhouse style kitchen belongs to world-renowned makeup artist, Bobbi Brown. I'm all for a kitchen being staged for photos, but I love how this kitchen exudes functionality! It seems like the perfect family kitchen. Big island for chatting while dinner is cooking. Large dining table for casual meals or for kids to do their homework.

Not to mention the design elements! I love the wooden beam ceiling, the off-white cabinetry and the sea-blue tile back-splash. It all works perfectly. If I had to choose one element as a must-have, it'd be the wooden beams. They completely warm up the space.

What is your kitchen must-have?

cooking statement

All it takes is a pop of color, some fun texture or a super intense piece of art to make a statement. I have kitchens on the brain. Check these out!

via {Domino}  Great balance of white with the bright green.

via {Lonny Magazine} Fork it over! How fun is this space? Chandelier, chalkboard paint and giant utensil? Yes, please!

via {House Beautiful}  My dream tile - sky blue subway! *sigh*

via {Dwell Magazine} Awesome wood paneling & how about that light fixture?

Love, love, love these! It's getting me geared up to finish my own culinary corner :) Maybe a fun kitchen will inspire me to cook more? Ha!

dream kitchen

Someday I will move out of my tiny, tiny apartment into my dream home. Meanwhile, I can just daydream about my future kitchen...

No. 1 ~ KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer in Buttercup Yellow. I love cupcakes, that is all. On sale now at Williams-Sonoma!

No. 2 ~ Le Creuset Round Dutch Oven, 7 1/4-Qt. in Lemongrass. Fall is right around the corner and these are perfect for slow cooking soups and stews! You can find it here...

No. 3 ~ The most adorable, "Let them eat cake" poster a la Blu Lima via MadeByGirl. I love the Aqua Fresca and did I mention that I love cake?

No. 4 ~ Breville ES 830 Espresso Machine via Williams-Sonoma - I'll be sad to not see my Barista at S*bucks every morning, but this would be too good to be true!

No. 5 ~ Look the part, be the part! Tea-And-Crumpets Apron by Anthropologie.

No. 6 ~ The mother of all retro stoves: La Cornue CornuFĂ© Stove, Provence Blue via Williams-Sonoma. If I'm going to roast a duck, better roast it in style...

*Sigh*...someday my friends, someday!
