6 ways to revive the soul

This season seems to be a total frenzy! Weddings, graduations, Mother's Day, Debutante season, summer nights, hot days, job hunting - I could go on, but I think you get the picture. Needless to say, we're all running a bit ragged right about now. Here are some of my favorite ways to slow down, stop and enjoy life.

1) Sunshine: The sun is finally showing its lovely, bright face on a regular basis. And we're all trying to enjoy it. So amongst all of the madness, get yourself some vitamin D! It's good for your skin & your peace of mind. Sit on the front porch for even just 10 minutes. You'll be surprised how amazing you feel afterward. It's like recharging your soul. Try it!

2) Wind blown: Stuck in traffic? No problem. Open your sunroof. Roll down your windows. And crank up the tunes! I've spent a particularly awful amount of time on the interstate of late and nothing works better than Kelly Clarkson's new album on decibel 45. And once traffic starts rolling again, wind running through hair is a natural high anyway! Try it!

3) 30 minutes a week: With work obligations and free-time disappearing at a rapid rate, make time to be with friends for at least 30 minutes a week. You spend hours with your family and co-workers. But make sure you don't cut out those who always support you and put a smile on your face! 30 minutes is all it takes to make sure those special and fun relationships in your life don't cease to exist! Meet for coffee or a drink at a local dive. Or just have a glass of tea on the back porch. Pick up the phone! Try it!

4) Page turner: Sometimes we just have to get away. One great way to settle down and relax for me is picking up an awesome book. It will allow you to put your life on hold for an hour or so, allowing you to not stress about life for just a little while. I'm reading Twilight right now! If you're not into devilishly handsome vampires, well any book will do :) Try it!

5) Stretch it out: Nothing gets me more relaxed than stretching out my body. Take five minutes after you get in your PJs or when you wake up in the morning and stretch. Your body and your mind will thank you. You'll be less prone to aches and feeling sore throughout the day, which makes us all feel younger and more rejuvenated. Try it!

6) Turn up the tunes: Nothing brings me back to square one like music. I'll turn on some Beatles or Rolling Stones for some vintage rock, or crank some new stuff, like Amos Lee. Whatever moves you - turn it up! I believe all it takes is one awesome song can lift your mood. Try it!

Hope you'll try these & if you have a cool story along with your experience, share!

xoxo
Katherine
